I was traveling to Leytonstone to work today. I never thought I could ever come back to work in this hospital again. However, for some reason, I was text from my work yesterday informing me that they needed a cover for the next day, and that is today. I came as per usual - checked if I was actually listed to work for that shift that day.

For some reason, Elizabeth line was not packed. I managed to get to work early. I was at the hospital 15 minutes before time. I was the only one in the meeting, to my surprise. My other colleagues did not even bother to go up and attend. My day started like a summer breeze - nil patients from eight in the morning until about 12 noon. I even managed to get to the Well Being hub wherein they provided free breakfast (I mean coffee or tea, and other bakery goods). I had the free breakfast that time.
Late in the afternoon almost few hours before my shift would end, I had no admissions at all. In the whole of my shift that day, I only had one cannulation and blood work of which - my eleven year old patient was steady, did not cry nor scream, not difficult at all. She went home indeed after her results. I went home and managed to arrive from work at half past nine in the evening.
In the Book of Exodus 13, 21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people. God was with the Israelites in their travel from the time they left Egypt to the time they settled in the Promised Land. The Lord did not end being with His children in book of Exodus. He is with us, because He lives in us. In the book of 1 John 4, 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
Shifts can be hard at times but there are times it is a like a summer breeze.
Everyday we experience the miracles of God :)
